When you get a sweet treat craving in the middle of summer, do you look at your oven and think “Yes! I can’t wait to turn you on!”? Me neither.

Chocolate oat no-bake bars are a simple no-bake dessert that requires about 5 minutes of actual work in the kitchen. You just mix, pour, and wait for the mix to harden.

While you are waiting for the bars to harden you can hit up the pool. OR maybe you can scroll through Instagram looking at tropical beaches. OR mix up a refreshing beverage. OR… ok, you are a strong independent person that is capable of entertaining yourself while you patiently wait for these bars to finish. Why am I trying to boss you around?

p.s. the wait is SO worth the chocolatey reward

Hey! This bar recipe has peanut butter in it too! Is peanut butter and chocolate the ultimate perfect dessert combination or what?

So, I recommend using quick oats for this recipe. I’ve tried old-fashioned oats and they’re too chewy(not in a good way). Quick oats get all soft in the melted chocolate and it makes for a more pleasant peanut butter & chocolate bite.

fun fact: this is the exact same recipe my mom made all the time when she was pregnant with my little brother! Those cravings, I tell ya.

These no-bake chocolate oat bars are not just for sweltering summer days. You have my permission to make them ALL year round.

They are an easy no-stress dessert for the holidays, birthday’s, potlucks, or baby showers. They’re pretty popular too so you’ll obviously be the star of the show when you bring this dessert around.
