Easy White Country Gravy
Creamy white gravy is one of the ultimate comfort foods. Spoon this country-style gravy over flaky biscuits, chicken fried steak, or smooth mashed potatoes to complete your meal.
Is it fall in your part of the world yet? The temperature dropped here in Kansas City. Then yesterday was ninety-one degrees! When we did have a tease of cool days one of my favorite things to do was to pop some biscuits in the oven and whip up my favorite easy white gravy recipe without sweating my face off.
Cold weather = comfort foods. It’s a fact.
Smooth and creamy country gravy is one of my top five comfort foods. I especially love this flavorful sauce over crumbly biscuits. My mom made biscuits and gravy frequently while I was growing up which is where my love for this combination started.
I owe the majority of my cooking skills to my mom. She made most of our meals homemade and always welcomed my help in the kitchen. My love of cooking started with her. In fact, most of my recipes are inspired by hers.
However, my mom and I are incredibly different white gravy makers. She makes hers with cornstarch, I make mine with flour. She makes hers with sausage, I make mine without. They are completely different white gravy recipes and both completely delicious. Take a peek below for my version of this yummy comfort food!
